Policies and Shipping

General Terms & Conditions

Labor policy:

We do not work on bicycles which are unsafe to ride, examples:

  • Non functional brakes (unless we’re making at least one brake functional) (fixed gear bicycles excluded from this limitation).
  • Bent/damaged frame, fork, handlebars or other major component, regardless of material.
  • Tires which are unsafe to ride (unless we’re replacing them).
  • Any other condition which we deem makes the bicycle unsafe to ride.

General/Misc. Policy:

Bicycles left longer than 7 days after repair completion are subject to a $5 per day storage fee. Bicycles left longer than 30 days after repair completion are considered abandoned and become property of Firth & Wilson Transport Cycles or Transport Cycles at Bok and will be donated or sold to cover the cost of repairs/parts. We will make several attempts to contact you before this happens, please ensure we have accurate contact information. If an extenuating circumstance occurs, please contact us as soon as possible.


We are a busy neighborhood bike shop serving our local community and folks in the greater Philadelphia area. Items on our website help our local and nearby customers to shop in advance. We sell many items through our website but not all are available to ship. Bicycles are for pick up only.

We ship items via USPS, UPS, or FEDEX. We are not responsible for items lost or stolen through shipping. No refunds or exchanges will be issued unless it is due to our error. We typically get items packaged and out for shipping within 3 to 5 business days. After that, any delays are due to USPS, UPS, or FEDEX.

We ask that items purchased for pick up be picked up within one week of purchase. If you are unable to pick up within this time period please call our Howard Street shop 215-425-4672 to make other arrangements. Please see our "Shipping, Pick Ups, & Returns" section below for more details.

Payment Methods

Payments: credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover)

Orders left unpaid after 24 hours are subject to cancellation.

Billing and shipping address must match or your order will be cancelled.

We reserve the right to cancel orders at anytime. An order may be cancelled due to items being out of stock, items that are not available to ship where shipping was paid for, payment is unable to be processed, or if a payment made does not pass all security criteria.

Refunds: Payment refunds processed through Stripe can take up to 10 days to show on your statement.

Shipping, Pick Ups, & Returns


Shipping: We typically have your order packed and "ready to ship"* on the same day or following depending on what time your order is received. If you place an order on a day we are closed, your order will be processed on the next day that we are open. Once a shipping label is created we will email you with the tracking number.

*"ready to ship" means that your ordered has been packed and is waiting to be picked up or taken to a USPS post office or UPS/Fedex facility (whichever applies.) There may be several days before you package is processed from the shipping company.

Not all products are available to be shipped. At this time we are only shipping a few select bicycles. If you purchase a bike for shipping that is not available to ship, the order will be cancelled. Bicycles can be purchased for pick up at our South Kensington shop, 1315 N Howard Street, Philadelphia PA 19122.

Bikes that are available to ship will include insurance and ship via UPS. A tracking number will be provided to you. Due to shipping delays it may be several days before your bike leaves our shop. Upon delivery an adult must be present to sign for the package. Bikes do not arrived assembled. To make sure the manufacturer's warranty is valid we recommend taking your bike to your local bike shop for assembly. They will charge an assembly fee that varies in price with each bike shop.

Parts and accessories (some oversized or overweight items are not available to ship) are still available for shipment** or pick up at the above address. In some cases items can be transferred to our South Philadelphia shop for pick up, Transport Cycles at Bok, 821 Dudley Street, Philadelphia PA 19148. Please call us at 215-425-4672 to inquire about a transfer.

**We only ship to the billing address. If you provide a different shipping address your order will be cancelled. Please make sure your billing and shipping address match.

We ship using UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or USPS. Bikes typically ship via UPS.

**Shipping is calculated for US only (lower 48 states) and most items we do not ship outside of the US.

**We do not ship to third party shippers. If we determine that the billing/shipping address you've provided is to a third party shipper, we will have to cancel your order.

We are not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or delayed.

Pick ups: Items purchased for pick up must be picked up during opening hours within a week after receiving notice that the items are ready for pick up. If you are unable to pick up within that time period please call 215-425-4672 to make arrangements for a different pick up day or time. All items purchased for pick up must be picked up from our S. Kensington shop, 1315 N. Howard Street. Some items (bikes are always excluded) can be transferred to our S. Philadelphia shop in the Bok Building, 821 Dudley Street, for pick up there. Please call 215-425-4672 to inquire about a transfer.

Returns: All sales on bicycles, kids seats, tools, and helmets are final and cannot be returned. Accessory returns accepted within 30 days and must be unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by the receipt. A refund will be issued in the form it was received after returned item has been received and inspected. Customer pays return shipping.

Information Security

We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to "see" your transaction information. When your account information is displayed on your screen, we only display the last five digits of your credit card numbers. You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.

We sometimes use other companies (third-party service providers) to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders and delivering packages. They need access to some personal information in order to perform their duties but may not use this information for other purposes.

Prices and Information

Our website is intended to help you. We make every effort to maintain current, accurate prices in our online catalog. And we strive for similar accuracy and timeliness with the other information we offer here. However, inventory or pricing errors may occur, and we reserve the right to decline or cancel any orders where mistakes or discrepancies in price or stock status exist regardless of the source of the error.
